Growing TheraPatch(R) National Retail Distribution Now Includes Eckerd, Kmart,
Safeway, SuperValu, Target, Walgreens and Wal-Mart
MINNETONKA,
MN--Sept. 14, 1999--LecTec Corporation (Nasdaq National
Market:LECT) today announced that distribution for its new
TheraPatch over-the-counter topical drug delivery patches
has grown to include the national retailers Kmart and
Target, in addition to the previously established retailers
Eckerd, Safeway, SuperValu, Walgreens and
Wal-Mart.
"We are excited
about our ability to establish distribution with these large
retailers, considering we entered the health care consumer
products market exactly one year ago," commented Rodney A.
Young, Chairman, CEO and President. "We believe our ability
to gain nation-wide distribution, in a very short period of
time, with these and other prominent retail organizations is
a testament to the unique and innovative characteristics of
our TheraPatch over-the-counter topical drug delivery
technology. Retail buyers are electing to sell our
TheraPatch products because they recognize the opportunity
to provide their customers new and innovative products as
well as realize attractive margins associated with
TheraPatch products. There is great enthusiasm about our
`first in the category', convenient, non-messy, and
easy-to-use patch products," Young continued.
"The recent shipment
of our TheraPatch products to Target and Kmart, as well as
other national retailers: Drug Emporium, Duane Reade, Fred
Meyer, Genovese, Longs, Lucky, Marc's, Meijer, Osco,
Phar-mor, Sav-on, Snyder, and Winn Dixie increases the
number of retail locations where you can purchase TheraPatch
from 11,000 to over 17,000. Within the next several months,
we anticipate continued expansion of our TheraPatch
distribution to include other significant national food,
drug and mass retailers," concluded Young.
A pipeline of
innovative, new products, patented patch technology, and the
company's ability to be fast and flexible are the Company's
stated competitive advantages.
