LecTec Set To Launch Headache/Fever Patches

November 11, 1999-Minnetonka, MN-LecTec Corporation (Nasdaq National Market: LECT) today announced the launch of two new TheraPatch products. In December 1999, the Company plans to start shipping to retailers its new TheraPatch Headache Cool Gel patch, which provides instant cooling comfort from tension, sinus and migraine headaches, and TheraPatch Fever Cool Gel patch "For Kids," which was developed to provide cooling comfort for children.

TheraPatch Headache and TheraPatch Fever are positioned to compliment pain-relieving and fever medications in the $2.8 billion analgesic market. TheraPatch Fever and TheraPatch Headache products are drug free, latex free and safe to use with medications. "We have already received orders and commitments from many major retail buyers who plan to stock and sell our two newest innovative patch products," commented Timothy R. J. Quinn, General Manager of LecTec's Consumer Products Division. "Results from our consumer focus groups indicate a strong acceptance of our instant cooling comfort therapy patches. When used by themselves or in conjunction with pain-relieving or fever medications, our new TheraPatch Headache and Fever "For Kids" patches are excellent products."

With these two products, a total of nine TheraPatch products will be available nationwide at national food, drug and mass retailers. TheraPatch products already available include: TheraPatch Cool and TheraPatch Warm, which provide temporary relief from minor aches and pains; TheraPatch Anti-Itch "For Kids" and TheraPatch Anti-Itch "Outdoors," which provide temporary relief from the itching and pain associated with insect bites, minor skin irritations, and rashes due to poison ivy/oak/sumac; and TheraPatch Vapor Chest, TheraPatch Vapor Nose & Chin and TheraPatch Vapor Cherry Patch "For Kids," which provide temporary relief from coughs due to colds.
